Books I Am reading

I thought I would let you know some of the books I am enjoying this summer that no professor is requiring me to read.

  1. School(s) for Conversion: 12 Marks of a New Monasticism Edited by the Rutba House
  2. The Return of the Prodigal Son by Henri Nouwen
  3. Velvet Elvis by Rob Bell
  4. Amazing Grace by Kathleen Norris (re-reading)
  5. The Next Christendom by Philip Jenkins
  6. Mission In Acts: Ancient Narratives in Contemporary Context edited by Robert Gallagher and Paul Hertig

I do not really feel like commenting on them right now, they are all good! Happy reading!

thanks for sharing bj your book list bj. i was excited to see this post, and went "ah" when the page came up. one it give me a glimpse into your mind (fascinating place) and two it puts books on my radar which i may not come into an awareness of in any other way. and looking at this list - i'm going to look deeper into the first one, that intrigues me.

already read the 2nd as you know since we did a worship series around it in july. that's wild though - tt told me his reaction when you mentioned it on your trip together. i love it when God does stuff like that!

Nice to see another blog from somone in intentional Christian community - you can check out mine at jesus-army-radical.blogspot.com

Looks like our blogs have been going about the same amount of time. Yours looks interesting and intuitive. I'll put up a link to yours on mine and pop back every so often.
