What up with Xmas?

My buddy John Creasy has some good thoughts on the whole Christmas/Holiday controversy that is stirring in the heart of the church. You should read it!!!!

I must say that the conversation and so called controversy is ridiculous. Nonetheless some people need to feel as thought they are talking about important Kingdom issues. Anyway...

My daughter Kyra asked me yesterday where gift giving comes from. Katrina (way wife) told her it stems from the shepherds and the wise men bringing gifts to Jesus, Mary and Joseph. True enough. Secondly gift giving comes from St. Nicholas who secretly gave gifts to the poor and needy. So my question then is, how and in what way do we give gifts to God (Jesus) during Christmas and secondly, how and in what way do we give gifts to the poor like St. Nicholas (the root of Santa Claus)?

Happy holidays!

I think we should celebrate St. Nicholas day on the 6th December, that's the day he died. That could be the day we give gifts to one another and to those in need. Then we could celebrate Christmas for it's own sake.
